What Bounce Connect is

Bounce Connect is a paid Android app, Bounce Companion, with its Mac app included in the price. Its website lists texts with dual-SIM support, calls including WhatsApp calls, notifications with inline replies, fast file transfer, clipboard sharing, a remote file browser, media controls, and call log and contact sync, all over local Wi-Fi.

As listed on its website on October 4, 2026, Bounce Connect costs $15.99 once on Google Play, with the Mac app included. It needs macOS 14.6 or later and Android 8.0 or later.

What DroidPort is

DroidPort is a Mac app. On the phone it works with KDE Connect, the free and open-source app from the KDE community, so the phone side costs nothing and is not tied to one company.

  • Read and reply to SMS and MMS in a Mac conversation view, including photos, video and attachments.
  • Phone notifications with inline reply and action buttons, from the app or a menu bar panel.
  • Browse your phone's photos and videos, open the full-resolution original, drag it into Finder, or import what is new.
  • Send files in either direction, share from Finder, and bring copied text from your phone to your Mac.
  • See ringing and missed calls, silence the ringer, and control what is playing on the phone.
  • Built for the Mac App Store sandbox, with no account and no DroidPort cloud.

Which one fits you

Choose Bounce Connect if handling calls from your Mac matters most to you, or you want its dual-SIM and contact sync features, and you are happy to pay on the phone.

Choose DroidPort if you want a Mac app built around your texts, alerts and photos, you would rather keep an open-source app on your phone, and you like buying Mac software from the Mac App Store or straight from the developer.

Questions people ask

Do I need a special app on my phone for DroidPort?

You need KDE Connect, a free and open-source app from Google Play or F-Droid. DroidPort itself is the Mac app, and there is nothing to pay on the phone.

Can DroidPort answer phone calls on my Mac?

No. DroidPort shows a call that is ringing and the calls you missed, and it can silence the ringer, but you answer, decline and place calls on the phone.

Does either app send my messages through a server?

DroidPort does not. It talks to your phone directly over your local network, with no DroidPort cloud and no account. Bounce Connect describes itself as local Wi-Fi only.
