Set up DroidPort

  1. Install the free KDE Connect app on your Android phone.
  2. Connect your Mac and phone to the same local network.
  3. Open DroidPort and KDE Connect, then accept the pairing request on both devices.
  4. Choose which notifications and features you want to use.

KDE Connect is available from the Google Play Store and F-Droid.

If your phone is not found

  • Confirm both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network and not on a guest network.
  • Keep KDE Connect open on the phone during the first pairing.
  • In macOS System Settings, allow DroidPort to access the Local Network.
  • Temporarily disable a VPN or network filter that may isolate local devices.
  • On Android, allow KDE Connect to run in the background without battery restrictions.

If a feature is missing

DroidPort shows the features supported by the paired phone and its KDE Connect plugins. Open KDE Connect on Android and confirm the matching plugin is enabled. Some phone makers also require notification access or background permissions before a feature can work reliably.

Privacy

DroidPort support does not need your message history or personal files. Read the DroidPort Privacy Policy for details about local processing and stored app data.
