Privacy by design
DroidPort Privacy Policy
DroidPort is built so your phone data stays between your Android device and your Mac, over your local network.
Effective September 2, 2026
Who we are
DroidPort is a native macOS app made by SKJ APPS ("SKJ APPS", "we", "us", or "our"). DroidPort connects to your Android phone over your local network so you can see messages, notifications, calls, and media on your Mac, and move files, photos, and clipboard text between your phone and your Mac. It works together with KDE Connect, an independent open-source Android app.
This policy explains what DroidPort does and does not do with your data. If you have any questions, email support@droidport.app.
The short version
SKJ APPS does not collect, sell, rent, or use your messages, notifications, contacts, clipboard contents, photos, files, call information, media activity, or device content for advertising or analytics. DroidPort has no account system and no DroidPort cloud service. Your phone data stays between your Android device and your Mac.
What DroidPort processes, and where it goes
When you pair a device, DroidPort communicates directly with the KDE Connect app on your Android phone over your local network. The App is sandboxed by macOS and uses only local-network access to discover and talk to your paired phone.
Depending on which features you turn on, DroidPort may move the following between your phone and your Mac:
- messages and message attachments;
- notification content and icons;
- contact names and numbers used for messaging and calls;
- clipboard text you explicitly send or apply;
- files and photos you send or receive;
- call status and media/playback information;
- basic device status such as battery, signal, and connection state.
This information is processed on your two devices and travels directly between them over your local network. It is not sent to SKJ APPS and it is not sent to any DroidPort server, because there is no DroidPort server. Some content is cached or saved locally on your Mac so features keep working - for example received files, message attachments, contact names, notification icons, and your app preferences. Pairing keys and certificates used to secure the connection to your phone are stored in the macOS Keychain on your Mac.
What DroidPort does not do
- It does not include advertising, tracking, or behavioral-analytics software.
- It does not include crash-reporting or usage-telemetry services.
- It does not include an auto-updater that phones home; updates are delivered through the marketplace you installed from (for example the Setapp Marketplace or the Mac App Store).
- It does not upload your messages, files, photos, contacts, or clipboard to us or to any cloud.
The only time DroidPort reaches the internet is when you deliberately tap an informational link inside the App - for example a help page about phone battery settings, an open-source component's source page, or another SKJ APPS website. Those links open in your normal web browser, which is subject to that site's own privacy practices.
How any data is used
Any data DroidPort handles is used only to provide the feature you asked for - showing a notification, displaying or sending a message, transferring a file, syncing the clipboard, and so on. We do not profile you and we do not build advertising or analytics profiles from your content.
Third parties
- KDE Connect: DroidPort interoperates with KDE Connect on your Android phone. KDE Connect is an independent open-source app and is governed by its own privacy practices. SKJ APPS is not affiliated with or endorsed by KDE.
- Where you buy DroidPort: If you obtain DroidPort through the Setapp Marketplace, Setapp and MacPaw act as the merchant of record and, together with their payment provider, handle your purchase and account information as an independent controller under their own privacy policy. If you obtain DroidPort through the Mac App Store, Apple handles your purchase and account information under Apple's privacy policy. In both cases SKJ APPS does not receive your payment card details.
- Website hosting: droidport.app does not use advertising pixels, behavioral analytics, or tracking cookies. Like most hosted websites, its infrastructure provider may process basic request information such as IP address, browser type, and security logs to deliver and protect the site.
Data retention and security
Content that DroidPort caches lives locally on your Mac. You control it: you can turn off individual features, unpair a phone at any time, and remove DroidPort's locally stored data by uninstalling the App and deleting its app data through macOS. Connections between your Mac and your phone are secured using the encrypted pairing that KDE Connect establishes, backed by keys held in your Mac's Keychain. Because your content is not sent to us, we have nothing about you to retain or delete on our side.
Your rights (GDPR and CCPA)
Because DroidPort does not send your personal data to SKJ APPS, we do not hold personal data about you from your use of the App, and there is no account profile for us to access, correct, or delete. The content DroidPort handles stays on your own devices and under your own control.
- If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have rights under the GDPR (and UK GDPR) including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. Since we do not collect your personal data through the App, you exercise these rights directly on your own devices; if you have any question about our practices, contact us at support@droidport.app.
- If you are a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA gives you rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. SKJ APPS does not sell or share your personal information, and does not collect it from the App for these purposes.
- For purchase and account data, please direct data-rights requests to the marketplace that handled your purchase (Setapp/MacPaw or Apple), since they are the controller of that information.
Children
DroidPort is a general-purpose utility and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If DroidPort's data practices change, we will update this policy and post it at https://droidport.app/privacy before the change applies. Continued use of DroidPort after an update means you accept the updated policy.
